In challenging times as well as during normal days, we can lose sight of where we are going in life. It’s so easy to become a reactive person and just deal with what’s urgent or in front of you right now without considering what happens next. Too many people are just trying to ‘get through the day’ and losing track of which direction they are moving to. This takes the fun and meaning out of life and is no way to spend this gift called existence.
As with many things in life, where you are going starts with decisions made in your head. Everything from Where and Why to How and Who is coming along for the ride. When you start and When you will take a break are also conscious choices you will need to make.
Here are 3 Easy Things you can do to get to some meaningful destinations:
Make note of what you are doing each day and why. Just write things down and look at your daily activities for an entire week.
Write out where you want to be in a month, at the end of the year and 10 years from now. Be clear about your destination and the meaning it has for you.
Decide what you are going to do each day to move closer to each of your milestones. Make sure you have clear next steps and even ‘pit stops’ to just have a diversion or rest from all the great progress you will be making. This will help you recharge and get back on the road again.
