“You are living as if destined to live forever; your own frailty never occurs to you; you don’t notice how much time has already passed, but squander it as though you had a full and overflowing supply — though all the while that very day which you are devoting to somebody or something may be your last. You act like mortals in all that you fear, and like immortals in all that you desire…
How late it is to begin really to live just when life must end! How stupid to forget our mortality, and put off sensible plans to our fiftieth and sixtieth years, aiming to begin life from a point at which few have arrived!”
Seneca. On The Shortness of Life
You and I will never be as young as we are today. We’re all getting older, some are getting weaker, and less mobile. We are not going to enjoy movement, activity, and spending on the things we love like we do now. Sounds like it’s all downhill from here, right? Hold that thought!
It’s a special year for me; I’m getting older. In fact, I’m celebrating another year as a 35-year-old. I love being 35 so much that I just add “Years of Experience” every year instead of counting my actual age. You could say I’m trying to hold back time or at least slow it down. I just want to enjoy this season of my life more and not let life rush by. Until we can reverse time and the damage it causes in the aging process, we will have to make the most of each day as it comes. How can you achieve that?
Begin where you are and assess how Juicy, Curious, and Unique your life truly is right now. Have the last five years not been an Epic film for you? Don’t worry, there’s still time to enhance your story and create lasting memories to share with your grandkids. Here are some ideas:
What would an Epic, Abundant, and Awesome Life look like for you? Describe in detail in your own words.
What is the Financial Cost of everything in point 1 that would make this possible? Estimate the Time, Money, Effort, and other resources you need to make it happen.
What are the Tools and Habits you must have to make it happen? What can you do to free up some more time, generate or save more money, and tune up your health to get closer to all the things you want to do in point 1? Be specific and set a timeframe for each activity such as your Must Do List, your monthly savings/earning plan, and your hours of mind/body health routine per week.
There you have it. A clear path to achieve your Awesome Life starting this year! You don’t have to do everything on your list in the next 12 months but you do have to take action right now. Step by step and habit by habit, you will make progress if you review points 1-3 daily. You will feel compelled to do something each day to start achieving your goals and that will move you a lot closer to your Awesome Life!
Have An Awesome Day!
